An absolutely brilliant training centre.This is the place to go for training. I had zero experience operating a forklift before walking through the doors, but the instructor Mr.Gaz was incredibly patient,knowledgeable and friendly.The owner was very kind, welcoming and friendly too. He explained everything well and in easy steps enabling Us to undestand better and quickly. From the pre-use safety checks to actual maneuvering.The training yard is spacious and well maintained giving you plenty of room to practice. They don't just teach you how to pass the test but how to be a safe and competent forklift operator - which is what employers are looking for. Completed my PPT category (A4) training and received my certificate without issues. The course was well structured and clear, with both theory and practical parts explained properly. It becomes much easier if you apply yourself with full commitment and patience. Depending on your experience, it can take just one day if you already know how to operate safely and carry out pre-use checks, or more than three days if you are starting out, but with patience you can achieve it! They also offer coffee and tea, which is a nice touch during the training✅ The staff, owner, and instructors were all friendly, helpful, and always available for support. 4 years ago I made one of the best decision in my life of getting 5 day Counter balance course with them. We studied from the booklet watching videos and power points presentations. It is very enjoyable to sudy with them. The tutor was great, he had a good balance of being serious and laid back. After successfully done the course I was recommended at my workplace to work as a team leader (I think due to this missing qualification) and since I got the position I could afford to have a car. It was huge life improvement for me. Not so long ago I had my refresher with them we watched videos and had new booklet more thiner than the privious but it was enough to refresh my memory what I should and shouldn't be doing with the f.l.t. we had practice on the truck and then the test. Again another great experience. If you go with them I don't think you will regret your money as long as you study the materials they give you. Thanks Excell ~ Albert N

I have just completed a 2 day Reach conversion to use alongside my existing counterbalance licence as my company moves into new premises. Tina, as always, accommodated us superbly. All of my drivers have passed and taken refresher courses with Excell. I will certainly be sending all of my future drivers to her. Our instructor Lauren is a superstar. She is so knowledgeable, patient and has a clear passion to teach. The time and techniques she uses breaks down language barriers for learners not speaking english as a first language is fantastic. I am so glad I chose Excel to do my training with because all the staff and instructors were so welcoming which in turn made me feel very comfortable which put me at ease, the instructors were clear and precise with their instructions which made the practical side of the training very smooth, as to the theory there were plenty of videos to watch and information leaflets for me to read. Private funding FLT counterbalance. Easy to find the premises, plenty of parking spaces. The site has set up area for the practical training tasks, classroom for the theory and paperwork exercises, kitchen for brews and toast free of charge and toilet for your needs. The trainers are very welcome and polite and adaptive to different styles of teaching to make you understand the different objectives and feel comfortable. The FLTs are electric and new models. I was a little rusty as it has been a year or so,since operating a counterbalance,so I was making silly mistakes,I honestly thought I was going to fail the refresher course.But Mick the instructor went out of his way to make sure that the mistakes were ironed out,before he allowed me to take the final test,the course ran over the allocated time, because Mick was determined to help me overcome my mistakes.if I was allowed 6 stars,then I would definitely award them that.I look forward to meeting them all again, when it's time to refresh again. ~ Rob C

Had my Counter Balance certificate done through Excell Lift Trucking training. Had nothing but a great experience here and was done in two days (mainly due to the fact there were two of us). Tina and Mark (?) were great to deal with learning and communication wise. Any problems with ie the truck or course they'd help (not straight up give answers like). Excellent training facility. Would recommend if anyone is struggling to get their certificates or want to go private. ~ Josh (

After just completing a week's Fork lift truck training on 24th January 2020, at Excell, I have to say they are the most friendly and welcoming team you can meet. They made us feel at ease straight away, training was easy to understand, if anyone struggled they went the extra mile to make sure everyone passed, by offering 1-1 where possible. I did my counterbalance refresher course with Tina, professional, friendly and made me feel relaxed which is important especially when youre in unfamiliar surroundings, everybody there was very helpful from first inquiring to completing the course. Covid safety precautions were excellent with screens in the classroom, plenty of hand sanitizer and wipes for cleaning the controls on the trucks. Excell are the best training i have used. i have a few cards and this is the first time i used this company and i must say i will be using again as the staff made my experience one i wont forget. I learnt counterbalance and the tutor made the course very funny as well as very educational witch makes a nervous novice feel very comfortable. If you are new to what you are looking for and are nervous about it this is the training centre for you ~ Alexandria C

Very nice instructors and very professional. Very good atmosphere which reduces the stress if you are. If you have problems with your english language don't worry about it. I had a great experience at excell forklift training i was on a conversion course to counter balance for two days, i couldn't of asked for a greater instructor than steve you could crack a joke with him but he was still very professional at his job.
